Studio Yannick Nuss is a graphic design studio focusing on the creation of books, visual identities and exhibitions. I work mainly in cooperation with artists, cultural institutions and universities, with the intention to create contemporary and relevant printed matter. My work panders between pop-culture, media theory and visual storytelling. Self-initiated and authored projects such as the book HARD BODIES (release in 2022), which deals with the role of male and female performers in american action cinema of the 80s, are an expression of this combination of media analysis, film theory and design practice. I understand graphic design not as a pure service, but as an equal voice in the mediation process of content.

My work has been latestly shown at the 28th International Biennial of Graphic Design in Brno, at the Multiple Art Days & ADAGP Award in Paris and at the Golden Bee Graphic Design Biennale in Moscow. I have also been awarded with 100 beste Plakate in 2013 and 2016. In 2016 I founded the self-publishing platform PENG GURU together with the artist Bruno Nagel.

My website is a constant work in progress, so please don’t groan if something twitches. For more informations, portfolio or other inquiries feel free to get in contact.
